Our story begins back in 1978. A then-youthful Jeff Pritchard decided to fulfil a life-long dream, and a niche in the local market, for a quality motorcycle dealership. Occupying a former Co-Operative on Abergele Road in Old Colwyn, Colwyn Bay Motorcycles was born.
From the modest showroom the business flourished, and soon outgrew the premises. In the early 90′s the decision was made to move to the former Colwyn Bay Laundry building, which was being used for storage at the time. The Old Laundry became the new base for the business and now incorporates a large showroom, clothing department, parts centre and state of the art workshop.
Fast forward 30 years from when it all began and we’re still North Wales’ only Honda Motorcycle dealer as well as holding the North West’s only KTM franchise, and we keep a large stock of used bikes.
We’re a close team, led by Jeff Pritchard, and are on hand to help whatever you may need.
Colwyn Bay Motorcycles is a family run business and includes Jeff Pritchard, his wife Maria, his son Justin and daughter Natalie.
Jeff is the Managing Director of the business and has many years riding experience, which makes him a wealth of information.
Justin is Sales Manager and is responsible for New and Used Bike sales, ATV’s and agricultural equipment. Justin’s knowledge of bikes means he can help, no matter what the enquiry.
Natalie looks after the Marketing for the business and Maria is responsible for all of the Administration and Accounts.
In addition, Ian Smart is the resident KTM specialist who is a regular face at all the races and looks after Colwyn Bay Motorcycles’ KTM and Off Road division.
Our Parts Department is looked after by Trevor Owen who manages the Genuine Honda Accessories, KTM Powerparts and lots more.
Gary Waddington (or little Gary as he’s known) is responsible for our Clothing, Helmet and Boot Department. The on and off road clothing area carries the latest brands including Halvarssons, Rukka and Wulf amongst others and features cutting edge technologies such as airbag vests and various heated garments.
The workshop team is led by Gary Blanchard and provides all servicing, repairs, insurance jobs, MOT and diagnostics. Stuart Williams, Steve Green and Steve Owen are all Honda certified bike mechanics and are on hand to offer their advice and expertise.
